Poor platform that hosts many scam…
Platform favours sellers and if you get a dud item, it will be extremely difficult to get any money back. For refunds, they usually ask you to ship the item back to China which will end up very costly. And yet, you still won't know if you will get a refund.
Please don't waste your money here. If in Asia, use Lazada, Shopee, AliExpress or Amazon. In US/Europe, AliExpress offers good deals too and is much more trustworthy.

The sellers I chose have 4.9 ratings with many positive reviews. The products are not cheap, so it's not a price issue. I wonder if DHGate's sellers decide to send inferior products after these positive reviews? But the problem is you, DHGate, for letting them get away with it.

Item never arrived, Awful customer service
How do I have evidence of no item being delivered??? The tracking doesn’t show any proof and just says delivered. They are not willing to investigate and state I must do it but I cannot as the post office requires the seller to open a claim. Additionally, under the Consumer Contract Regulations 2014 it is the responsibility of the retailer/seller to investigate delivery related issues even if subcontracted so it is not my responsibility.
Absolute awful experience and customer service does not care about the law. Now I have to go through the hassle of a bank chargeback.
Avoid at all costs.

Update - As you can see DHgate response telling me I did not provide enough evidence that the item did not arrive… ridiculous. Also provided instructions of what to do next. Despite doing what they said and contacting them numerous times, still no help and they are still breaking the law. Avoid at all costs unless you are ready to chargeback.

I do not recommend to order anything…
Most products are below expectations.
At least 2 items that I was charged on my credit card never arrived. I lost in one case $8000. Other case $168 just last week. There is no way to contact their customer service. Do not lose your money.

DH. Gate should be very careful. When the Hells Angels find out they are copying and selling theirs and other MCs patch sets (including the Outlaws, Bandidos, Mongols etc) they will sue. They will all sue and rightly so. And DH. Gate will then know Motorcycle Club colours are EARNED BY MEMBERS ONLY.

50/50 chance you get your stuff or are able to return it for a refund. READ THE BAD REVIEWS! The 46% bad review percentage is not made up. SIMPLE MATH; DIVIDE bad reviews by good reviews. That equals a 46% BAD RATING. In essence you have a 50/50% chance of not getting ripped off or getting your item and being satisfied with it.

Is it safe? I was asked to send a picture of my credit card. Is it standard practice to ask a customer to send a photo of their credit card to confirm their identity? I was order product on Amazon, Aliexpess they never ask to send photo of my credit card only Dhgate [email protected]
Obviously people saying "don't do that" are just customers, but as a merchant accepting credit cards online from people all around the world, this practice to request a photo of the credit card is a security measure to avoid fraud. They can't do anything with your photo, just cover the areas they asked you to cover and you will be fine, in my case, I ask people to cover everything except the last 5 digits of the credit card number. As soon as you send your credit card (not the photo), if the merchant is malicious / scam, they already can prejudice you. All merchants have to obey rules of Visa / Mastercard / etc, and Visa has a rule about fraud, if a merchant has more than 1% of fraud, they will lose the ability to process credit cards. PayPal doesn't ask photo of credit card because they already have other advanced ways to confirm your identity. People on this page complained about the photo of the credit card being used against the chargeback process. Yes, the merchant will use the photo if you chargeback, because chargeback is a crime (when you really bought on that store, performing a chargeback is a crime), there are exceptions: when someone used your card without your authorization, when you bought and not received the product.

Is dhgate a good website to order a prom dress from?
This site is a fraudulent! They do not send you what is advertised and then they send you something of very very poor quality. Then it is impossible to get a refund I cannot get anybody to answer my calls text or emails. I spent $200 on address that will literally go in the trash.

The Chinese people on DHgate are ALL thieves, without exception. I have yet to see a good review. The only positive votes you see here are from the Chinese, and the paid reviewers. The proof?
